At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we're passionate about our mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS volunteers help carry out this mission in so many ways: supporting patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and our community, driving policy advocacy, participating in our campaigns, and helping LLS build much needed capacity.


The purpose of this position is to recover funds intended for LLS, but never received. These unclaimed funds have been remitted to various state agencies. The outcome of this role provides LLS with additional revenue that will help serve our mission work, the volunteer will be required to perform research, engagement and data entry tasks

Additional Position Information

Location The volunteer can work Remote or report to the national office for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society located at 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY. Time Commitment It is anticipated to be an ongoing project with a flexible schedule based on mutually agreed upon times. If the volunteer reports in person to the national office or a chapter the work must be completed between the hours of 9am – 5pm. Virtual opportunities expand the reporting times. Project starts as soon as appropriate volunteer is identified.TrainingLLS will provide the volunteer with an orientation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society including an overview of LLS, as well as guidance needed to complete the project.


  • Search various websites to identify unclaimed property.
  • File a claim for identified property.
  • Track the progress of the claim.
  • Follow up with the appropriate agency to resolve the claim.


Volunteer should possess the following skills/qualifications:

  • Proficiency navigating the internet.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Enjoy resolving issues as they arise.
