At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we're passionate about our mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS volunteers help carry out this mission in so many ways: supporting patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and our community, driving policy advocacy, participating in our campaigns, and helping LLS build much needed capacity.

Overview

Volunteer will perform general administrative duties on a regular weekly basis. Assisting with overall volunteer coordination and recruitment efforts for various chapter events as well as in office projects.

LocationMelville, NY Long Island ChapterTime CommitmentWeekly Hours will vary from 5 to 20 hour depending on time of year. Flexible schedule based on mutually agreed upon times.Report to: Logistics Manager

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with office staff on volunteer needs for chapter events and in-office assistance.
  • Maintain an updated and detailed database of volunteer contact information.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts for various chapter events and in office projects through community outreach.
  • Present a positive image of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through all volunteer interactions and communications.
  • Work in office one day per week. Manage time efficiently for weekly work both inside and outside of the office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

 

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
