HR ASSISTANT, VOLUNTEER

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we're passionate about our mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS volunteers help carry out this mission in so many ways: supporting patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and our community, driving policy advocacy, participating in our campaigns, and helping LLS build much needed capacity.

 

 

Overview

Position Summary

Human Resources supports the organization across multiple functions- hiring, performance management, employee relations, compensation & benefits, and learning & development. We are seeking a unpaid volunteer HR Assistant to support the EVP Human Resources.

Reporting to EVP & Chief Human Resources Officer, the volunteer HR Assistant will provide administrative and travel support to the LLS Human Resources team.

Location

Volunteer will serve from LLS’s Rye Brook, NY location.

 

Time Commitment

Seeking a volunteer who is able to dedicate 6-10 hours per week to this engagement. Flexible schedule based on mutually agreed upon times. Commitment is ongoing.

Responsibilities

This role will require the volunteer to perform support tasks at our national office including:

    • Making, tracking and updating travel arrangements for EVP Human Resources through Concur
    • Managing the day to day schedule and appointments for EVP Human Resources using Microsoft Outlook
    • Organizing Microsoft files and hard copy files
    • Editing of documents

The ideal volunteer candidate will possess the following skills/qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (for scheduling and emailing)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Possess a positive and helpful attitude
