More information about this position

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we're passionate about our mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS volunteers help carry out this mission in so many ways: supporting patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and our community, driving policy advocacy, participating in our campaigns, and helping LLS build much needed capacity.

Research Volunteer

Reporting to Lee Greenberger, SVP and Chief Scientific Officer. The outcomes of this role serve our mission work and will require the volunteer to perform research, engagement and data entry tasks including:

  •  Engage with past LLS grantees to develop a scientific timeline to help LLS understand how our research program funding has supported innovations and leaders in cancer.
  • Identify the past LLS grantee audience, and connect with that audience through phone and/or email to create an Excel database.
  • Confirm contact information for past and current grantees and identify ways they may or may not be interested in supporting LLS (volunteer, speaker, donor, guest blogger, etc.)
  • Create an historical grant timeline that allows LLS to determine the evolution of clinical trials and those who were leading them. This is an excellent opportunity to build research and project management skills.

LLS will provide the volunteer with an orientation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society including an overview of LLS clinical trial history, as well as training in LLS specific software needed to complete the project.
